William B Hawkins DDS, MAGD

Cosmetic, Family and Implant Dentistry

I'm 23 years old. I've been seeing Dr. Hawkins and Mrs. Rene since I was a little girl and they sparked my interest for pursing the field of Dentistry. I love helping people have clean and pretty teeth. I truly believe that having a great smile increases self-confidence and self-esteem. When you are confident in your smile you will be more willing to wear it everyday. I graduated from Dental Careers Institute in November 2013. Prior to that, I attended Converse College where I planned to major in Special Education while on scholarship for lacrosse. In my spare time I enjoy coaching for Hotlanta and the Kell HS youth program as well as giving private lessons. I love working with my girls and seeing them grow into such talented players and beautiful young ladies. I believe my purpose is to be a mentor and changes lives for the better. I am getting married in June to my high school sweetheart who is about to graduate from the United States Military Academy at West Point! Our journey starts in September when we move to our first post out in Oklahoma where we will stay for 3 years. My new found hobby is CrossFit. In my spare time I love to be outside, I just recently planted a vegetable garden that I love to check up on everyday. I also love to go fishing with my fiance, watch the newest movies, paint and cook good food.

I am energetic, reliable and a self-motivated dental assistant with 11 years experience in 4-handed dentistry, radiology, laboratory, sterilization, and clerical duties. I have a proven record of earning patient's confidence utilizing exceptional communication and customer service skills and the demonstrated ability to relate to different patients from diverse backgrounds and different age groups. I have contributed to our warm and caring environment, helping patients relax and ensuring a positive dental experience. I am one of the smiling faces you will see when you come to your appointment. Part of my job is to help you with anything you need. Whether it's your phone call, making/rescheduling your appointment, or answering any questions you may have. I am more than happy to help. I love coming to work and seeing the progress each patient makes , from visit to visit, it's incredible! Dr. Hawkins is a wonderful boss and mentor. I contribute all my knowledge and love of the dentistry field to Dr. Hawkins. My experience working with Dr. Hawkins has been an amazing learning journey. I am very grateful and therefore, I love coming to work each day continuing to learn. I have been married for 29 years and currently have a son in college. My passions besides dentistry are painting, theater, traveling, and reading. I am currently working on becoming a certified scuba diver.

About Dr. Hawkins

I am a lifelong, Georgia resident. I attended Georgia Tech for my undergraduate degree, and graduated from  Emory School of Dentistry in 1981. I completed a General Practice Residency at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Miami, Florida. I was a part time clinical instructor at Emory School of Dentistry from 1982, until it closed in 1989. I am now a clinical instructor at Georgia Regents College of Dental Medicine.  I supervise dental students during their rotation at the Good Samaritan Dental Clinic. I volunteer my services at this clinic one day a month.

I have received my Fellowship as well as my Mastership from the Academy of General Dentistry by completing thousands of hours of Continuing Education. You may go to their website for many patient resources. I just recently received my Life Long Learning and Service Recognition from the same organization. To date only 300 members have obtained this award. I am a member of the American Dental Association,  Georgia Dental Association, Georgia Academy of General Dentistry. Northwestern Dental Society, Georgia Mass Disaster Team, as well as the Steve Lipson Emory Study Club.

I was inspired by my childhood dentist, Dr. Scott Tullier at age 10 to become a dentist. He retired 4 years ago. I inherited his practice and added it to mine. I still treat Dr. Tullier, as well as his family. My hobbies include reading, scuba diving, flying, wood working, wine making and riding a large cruiser motorcycle.

General dentistry has advanced by leaps and bounds over the years. Gone are the procedures of old, that delivered substandard results. Now, almost anything can be accomplished with the right technology and know how. We use the latest technology, and I am thoroughly trained in the latest techniques. That, combined with our unwavering commitment to you, results in an experience that's unlike any other in the dentistry field. You'll immediately feel at ease, and our initial consultation will help you map out a complete dental plan that achieves superior results.

I have been serving the Marietta and East Cobb area for 33 years. We prefer to see one patient at a time, therefore maintaining a personal non-rushed relationship. We also enjoy children,  and are now treating third generation patients. We practice all phases of dentistry. I believe in a conservative approach to dentistry. I try to provide dental care that you need and want. I never try to "sell" patients unnecessary or unwanted dental treatment. Your wishes and best dental care are our greatest concerns.

I have been married to my wife Patty Hawkins, (a Cobb County school teacher) for 29 years, and have two grown children.
